I got my start in Bulldogs a
little over ten years ago when
my first champion, Maddie,
"chose" me. I didn't
quite have the money to afford
her so the next day I went and
sold my rookie Nolan Ryan card
so I could get her. That
was the first step of a thousand
miles for "All-Star Bulldogs".
Since that time, our journey has
included successful showing and
breeding. We have been
very conservative in our efforts
to select matches that will
produce healthy, beautiful bulldogs with sound
temperaments; we have had an
average of one litter a year.
Although success can be measured
on many levels, the most
important measurement is by the
happiness of my dogs being
placed in a loving household.
Some of my best dogs have never
even been shown, but for those
that have-- they have fared very
well at Specialties, Eukanuba,
Westminster, and as top-ranked
Bulldogs. |

As a middle school teacher for
over twenty years, education
is extremely important to me.
When you get a bulldog from me,
it involves a very diligent
application and education
process. I firmly believe in a
mentoring process and am
committed to helping my owners
long after a puppy has left my
home. Not every bulldog
may be a champion in the show
ring, but all of them should be
the champions of their owners'
homes and hearts.

When I first bought Maddie, I
had no intention of showing her
or breeding her. I didn't want
to own a "statue" which is what
I thought of show dogs. She was
to be my loving pet. However, friends and family kept saying
that they wanted a puppy from
her if I ever bred her. I
thought it would be great if one
of her offspring could keep her
company. After she had her
puppies, she "sprung" rib and
bulldoggers kept encouraging me
to enter her in a dog show. The
very first show we went to she
took second place but I was
overwhelmed and ready to quit
until "Lesley" consoled me to
hang in there. One year
later, Maddie was an AKC
champion and won this big trophy
from the Pacific Coast Bulldog
Club for having the most first
place finishes. Maddie was more
than worth sacrificing my best
baseball card as she became
"man's best friend".
